Welcome to the Center for Thriving Children!
Enrollment is open!

Opening March 2026 at Brookridge Community, the Center for Thriving Children is where young learners and older adults come together in meaningful ways. Our innovative intergenerational learning model creates unique opportunities for children to build relationships, develop empathy, and gain confidence through intergenerational connections.
Your child will experience high-quality early education that prioritizes literacy and social-emotional development—all within an environment designed to nurture curiosity and joy. Through intentional programming that bridges age groups, children develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and a genuine love for learning that extends far beyond our classrooms.

Whether you need full-day childcare, preschool, or Pre-K services, the Center for Thriving Children offers families a trusted partner in early education. Our experienced educators create engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences in a warm, inclusive setting where every child is valued and supported.

As an Imprints Cares program, we bring nearly 60 years of expertise in supporting children and families across Winston-Salem. We're excited to welcome your family to this groundbreaking space where learning happens across generations, relationships matter, and children truly thrive.

Discover the difference intergenerational learning makes.

Our Mission
To be a beacon of care and connection where children are nurtured to reach their full potential, families are supported and strengthened, and diverse generations come together to build a vibrant, compassionate community.

Creative Curriculum®
Our Curriculum
We are proud to use the nationally-recognized, award-winning Creative Curriculum® in our early learning classrooms. Creative Curriculum® is one of the few curriculums approved by every State Department of Education in the country!
It teaches exploration and discovery as a way of learning – and teaches children to be creative, confident thinkers.

With a combination of individual and both small and large group experiences, we provide your child with daily instruction and early learning activities focused on 9 essential child development areas: social & emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, math, science & technology, social studies and arts.
Children raise questions about the topic, and through exploration, they find answers to their questions. The hands-on nature of studies taps into your child’s natural curiosity, resulting in a learning environment that is both fun and intentional!

Our Philosophy
At The Center for Thriving Children at Brookridge, we believe that children, families, and elders thrive when they are connected across generations. Our intergenerational approach to childcare is grounded in the values of respect, belonging, and community. By creating opportunities for meaningful interaction between children and elders, we foster a culture of mutual learning, joy, and shared responsibility.
We view young children as capable, curious learners and older adults as valuable sources of wisdom, experience, and care. When these groups come together, children benefit from enriched learning experiences, expanded perspectives, and the nurturing presence of elders. At the same time, older adults experience purpose, connection, and vitality through active engagement with children.
Our philosophy emphasizes:
Reciprocal Learning: Children and older adults learn with and from each other through play, storytelling, arts, and daily routines.
Community Building: We cultivate an environment where every generation feels valued and included.
Respect for Diversity: We honor and celebrate the unique contributions of each child, family, and elderly in our program.
Holistic Development: We support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth while nurturing the well-being and social connectedness of older adults.
Shared Joy: We believe laughter, creativity, and kindness are bridges that unite generations and strengthen our community.
