What You Do Matters: Supporting Parents from the Start

The earliest years of a child’s life are filled with incredible growth and parents play the most important role in helping shape that development. Through Pediatric Parenting Connections (PPC), Imprints Cares offers new and expectant moms and dads an invaluable class series called “What You Do Matters.”

The series helps parents better understand early childhood and brain development while showing how everyday interactions can have a lasting impact. From talking, reading, and playing with a baby to creating healthy routines and responding to a child’s needs, parents learn that the simple things they do each day help build the foundation for future learning and development.

Just as importantly, the classes give parents an opportunity to ask questions, connect with others, and build confidence as they navigate the joys and challenges of caring for a young child.

Participants also have the opportunity to attend an Infant CPR class, where they learn critical, potentially life-saving skills and how to respond in an emergency involving an infant or young child.

At Imprints Cares, we know that when parents have knowledge, practical tools, and support, children benefit. “What You Do Matters” reminds families of something at the heart of our work: the everyday moments between a parent and child truly matter—and they can help shape a child’s future.
