Tiny Steps, Big Futures

When their daughter was born in April 2025, both mom and dad looked forward to their new role as her first teachers.

So, they turned to Imprints Cares, a Forsyth County nonprofit that works with families to prepare kids for school.

After attending our What You Do Matters series of classes, the parents wanted to keep building their parenting skills, Angela said, so they enrolled in our Parents as Teachers program for ongoing support and guidance.

During twice-a-month visits with Angela, their family educator, they engaged in skill development, expanded parent/child interactions, and introduced age-appropriate activities like stacking cups, dropping a ball down a chute, and tossing a ball.

These activities aim to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, and other key skills.

Angela said the parents have been “very engaged” in their child’s development and have incorporated what they’ve learned into their daily routine. The results are encouraging. Their daughter is now walking and speaking English and Spanish.

“She’s meeting all her milestones,” Angela said. “I think it’s happened because of parental involvement.”

Thank you for being an important part of the Imprints Cares community. Because of your generosity and commitment, children and families have access to the support, resources, and educational opportunities they need to move forward with confidence.

From a child’s earliest days through the school years, your support helps families build strong foundations, overcome challenges, and create new possibilities for the future. Together, we are investing not only in the success of children today, but in stronger families and a stronger community for generations to come.

We are deeply grateful for your partnership and for believing, as we do, that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
