Meet Lewis Kendricks

For Lewis Kendricks, serving as a Family Engagement Specialist with Imprints Cares’ Expanded Learning Before & After School and Summer Camp programs is all about connection. Lewis works alongside staff, children, and families, offering support, parent education, encouragement, and sometimes simply a trusted person who will listen. Through these relationships, he helps families support their children’s growth and development.

Several years ago, while working with a seventh-grade student at Lewisville Middle School, Lewis connected with a young man who was feeling disconnected at home. He loved his family deeply but wanted more meaningful time and communication with his parents.

As the student opened up, Lewis listened and eventually helped bring him and his parents together for a conversation. His parents were hesitant at first, but as they heard their son’s perspective, the walls began to come down.

His father shared that while he wished his son had come directly to him, he was grateful his son had trusted Lewis and that the conversation helped him better understand his feelings. His mother responded with tears, a hug, and a heartfelt “thank you.”

For Lewis, the experience reflects the heart of family engagement: being present, building trust, strengthening families, and making sure children feel heard and supported.

Lewis’s coworkers describe him as dedicated, engaging, and compassionate—and Lewis might add, “Stands on business.” And there’s another side of Lewis many at Imprints Cares know and appreciate: he’s also our very own talented photographer! Whether he’s supporting a family or capturing a special moment through his camera lens, Lewis has a gift for helping people feel seen.
